Job Overview :
The Windows Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of Windows-based servers and systems. This role ensures system availability, security, performance, and compliance while supporting business applications and end users in an enterprise IT environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications :
1. Technical Skills :
- Strong experience with Windows Server Administration.
- Hands-on knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VLANs).
- Experience with backup, monitoring, and patching tools.
2. Soft Skills :
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Willingness to work in shifts or on-call support (if required).
Key Responsibilities :
1. System Administration :
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments.
- Manage Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, and OU structures.
- Administer DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy services.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.
2. Security & Compliance :
- Apply security patches and updates using WSUS or similar tools.
- Implement and manage security policies, access controls, and permissions.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
- Manage antivirus, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
3. Virtualization & Infrastructure :
- Support virtual environments (Hyper V / VMware).
- Manage server builds, decommissioning, and lifecycle management.
- Perform backup and recovery operations using enterprise backup tools.
- Ensure disaster recovery readiness and documentation.
4. Troubleshooting & Support :
- Troubleshoot system, application, and network-related issues.
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for Windows-related incidents.
- Coordinate with network, security, and application teams.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
5. Automation & Documentation :
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in change management and incident management processes.
