About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Systems & Infrastructure Administrator to maintain, monitor, and optimize hybrid enterprise infrastructure across VMware and Microsoft Azure environments. The ideal candidate will take ownership of virtualization, cloud operations, directory services, network hardware, and infrastructure patching, operating with high autonomy and strong adherence to ITIL practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure Management :

- Administer and maintain virtual server environments across VMware and Azure, managing host and guest health, monitoring performance, and resolving technical faults.

- Oversee Azure cloud services, capacity monitoring, and cost-efficient operations; escalate architectural or major investment decisions to the Head of Digital and Technology.

Network, Active Directory & Security Operations :

- Maintain Cisco switches/wireless infrastructure across all sites, alongside site-specific Aruba wireless hardware.

- Manage Active Directory and Entra ID health, policy configurations, access governance, and periodic access reviews.

- Implement infrastructure security changes driven by cybersecurity roadmaps, triage vulnerability findings, and report progress against framework guidelines (ACSC Essential Eight, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001).

System Maintenance, Backups & Patching :

- Perform infrastructure patching, including firmware and OS updates for physical compute, storage, network hardware, and hypervisors.

- Set patching schedules and oversee completion tracking for servers and endpoints; resolve any slippage or execution failures.

- Manage backup infrastructure operations, investigate failures, and ensure data recoverability.

Governance, Documentation & Site Support :

- Log and manage infrastructure changes using Jira Service Management in compliance with ITIL change control.

- Support computer system validation and qualification by maintaining configuration records, audit trails, and runbooks.

- Provide escalation support above L1 and direct on-site personnel for physical task execution.

Requirements & Qualifications :

- Experience : Minimum 4+ years (6+ preferred) in enterprise systems and infrastructure administration.

- Core Systems : Strong hands-on experience in Windows Server, Linux Server, VMware virtualization, and Microsoft Azure administration.

- Networking : Proven experience managing Cisco switches/wireless and Aruba wireless networks (Firewall administration not required).

- Process & Compliance : Working knowledge of ITIL change management, backup/recovery, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity frameworks.

- Communication : Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to convey technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

- Preferred Certifications/Industry : Microsoft AZ-104, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+; prior experience in GMP or regulated industries is a plus.
