About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Sybase DBA to manage, optimize, and support complex Sybase ASE/IQ environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Sybase Replication, High Availability solutions, and performance tuning, with a proven track record in delivering scalable and resilient database infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer, monitor, and optimize Sybase ASE/IQ databases (12.5 and above).

- Design, configure, and manage Sybase Replication Servers (Warm Standby, MSA, Table/Function level replication).

- Lead minor & major upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.

- Implement and support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including RPO/RTO management.

- Perform query fine-tuning, capacity planning, and proactive performance monitoring.

- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot clusters & replication environments.

- Manage database backup, recovery, and file systems.

- Provide real-time troubleshooting and end-to-end resolution of incidents via remote sessions/screen-sharing.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation HLD, LLD, SOPs, Run Books.

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure database reliability and performance.

Key Skills & Experience :

- 8+ years of hands-on DBA experience with Sybase ASE/IQ & Replication.

- Proven expertise in HA/DR solutions and cluster management.

- Strong background in performance tuning & query optimization.

- Practical experience with capacity planning and scalability improvements.

- Deep knowledge of Warm Standby/MSA and advanced replication techniques.

- Skilled in preparing and maintaining technical documentation.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
