- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 - 5 years in engineering management.

- Proven player-coach track record: able to lead people and teams while still making hands-on contributions to code, architecture, or design.

- Technical expertise in platform domains such as authentication, authorization, identity management, and multi-channel notifications.

- Experience designing and running distributed systems and multi-tenant SaaS platforms on modern cloud providers (preferably Google Cloud Platform).

- Hands-on expertise across the stack: designing microservices in Python and Elixir (GraphQL, REST, gRPC), building React/TypeScript frontends, managing data with PostgreSQL and Cloud Storage, scaling with Redis and Pub/Sub, and implementing observability with Cloud Logging, Monitoring, and Sentry.

- A history of recruiting and retaining great engineers, while fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.

- Operational mindset: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and building systems that meet strict SLAs/SLOs.

- Strong communication and influencing skills you can translate technical tradeoffs into clear options for business partners.

- Comfort with on-call participation, ensuring business-critical systems get timely attention.
