Job Title : Backend Developer - Python & Azure

About the Role :

We are looking for a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable backend applications. You will develop REST APIs, implement business workflows, integrate cloud services, and support reliable production systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI.

- Translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions.

- Design database schemas, optimize queries, and manage migrations using PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and Alembic.

- Implement asynchronous processing, background jobs, retries, and reliable error handling.

- Integrate third-party APIs and Azure cloud services.

- Implement authentication, authorization, data protection, and secure secrets management.

- Write unit, integration, and API tests to ensure application quality.

- Build and maintain containerized applications and CI/CD pipelines.

- Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve reliability.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and product stakeholders.

- Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills :

- Strong proficiency in Python, including asynchronous programming.

- Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, or a similar backend framework.

- Experience designing REST APIs, validating requests, and managing API contracts.

- Proficiency in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and ORM tools such as SQLAlchemy.

- Understanding of database transactions, indexing, and query optimization.

- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, role-based access control, and secure coding practices.

- Experience integrating external services and handling timeouts, rate limits, and failures.

- Familiarity with pytest, Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud application deployment.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, and managed identities.

- Familiarity with message queues, background workers, and distributed systems.

- Experience with caching and application performance optimization.

- Knowledge of structured logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.

- Experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD platforms.

- Familiarity with dependency scanning, container security, and automated quality checks.
