Sony - Engineering Manager - Backend Services

Minimum Qualifications :

- Bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing engineering teams.

- Exceptional problem-solving, technical, analytical abilities.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of managing and inspiring a team to achieve high performance and innovation.

- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of database systems (Rational and non-rational).

- Strong understanding of Devops and familiar with tools used in CICD pipeline : such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, Maven, Gradle, and SonarQube.

- Expertise in , Java.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and modern containerization technologies.

- Java backend development.

- System design and architecture.

Role :

- Lead a team of software engineers and and Database SREs in creating and maintaining innovative Spring frameworks, Common libraries and Database infrastructures that significantly improve the efficiency and productivity of microservice developers.

- Architecting and good exposure into SDLC process, have prior hands-on experience in building Java microservices ecosystem.

- Provide leadership and support for all tools developed by the team, ensuring they meet operational standards and continuously enhance user satisfaction.

- Manage onboarding and migration of systems to incorporate advanced testing methodologies and tools, ensuring high adaptability and minimal disruption.

- Coordinate with our US team and Japan team to ensure seamless communication and synchronization of project goals and timelines, enhancing cross-functional team collaboration.

- Strategically plan project executions and resource allocations and meeting tight deadlines.

- Regularly assess team performance, providing feedback and developmental opportunities to promote career growth and operational excellence.
