Sonata Software - Senior Power BI Developer - Azure SQL

Job Description/Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making. Create and optimize DAX queries, calculated columns, measures, and KPIs.

- Work extensively with Azure Databricks for data processing, transformation, and integration.

- Perform data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas, for scalable BI solutions.

- Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources such as Azure SQL, Databricks, APIs, and flat files.

- Optimize report performance through query optimization, data modeling best practices, and efficient DAX.

- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, and gateways.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.

- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to data governance standards.

- Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of Power BI solutions in production.

- Troubleshoot and resolve data, performance, and visualization issues.

- Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and support to end users.

Mandatory Skills & Requirements :

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.

- Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Embedded.

- Proven hands-on experience with DAX queries (mandatory).

- Strong working experience with Azure Databricks (mandatory).

- Experience in SQL and working with large and complex datasets.

- Good understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing fundamentals.

- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have / Additional Skills :

- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or other Azure data services.

- Exposure to Python or PySpark in Databricks.

- Knowledge of Power BI Premium features and capacity management.

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
