Job Description

We are looking for an experienced RPA Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power Automate Desktop (PAD), Power Automate Cloud Flows, and UiPath-to-PAD migration. The candidate will be responsible for leading RPA transformation initiatives, designing scalable automation solutions, and managing the migration of existing UiPath automations to the Microsoft Power Automate ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in RPA architecture, automation delivery, process assessment, bot development, troubleshooting, governance, and stakeholder management. The role requires the ability to independently analyze complex business processes, identify automation opportunities, define migration strategies, and lead technical teams through end-to-end automation delivery.


Key Responsibilities :


RPA & Automation Leadership :


- Lead end-to-end RPA initiatives from process discovery and assessment through development, testing, deployment, and production support.


- Define and implement RPA best practices, standards, reusable components, coding conventions, and development frameworks.


- Evaluate business processes for automation feasibility, complexity, ROI, risks, and expected benefits.


- Provide technical leadership and guidance to RPA developers and automation teams.


- Review automation solutions for scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and performance.


- Establish development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support standards for automation solutions.


- Identify opportunities to improve existing automations through optimization, redesign, and process simplification.


UiPath to Power Automate Desktop Migration :


- Lead and manage UiPath-to-Power Automate Desktop migration projects from assessment through production deployment.


- Analyze existing UiPath workflows, dependencies, applications, credentials, integrations, exception handling, schedules, and business rules.


- Develop migration strategies, effort estimates, timelines, technical approaches, and migration roadmaps.


- Perform feasibility assessments to determine whether existing UiPath automations can be migrated directly or require redesign in PAD.


- Re-engineer UiPath workflows into Power Automate Desktop flows and Power Automate Cloud Flows where appropriate.


- Identify differences and limitations between UiPath and PAD and design suitable workarounds or alternative solutions.


- Ensure migrated automations maintain or improve existing functionality, performance, reliability, and business outcomes.


- Lead migration testing, regression testing, UAT, deployment, and post-migration stabilization.


- Document migration architecture, technical decisions, dependencies, known limitations, and operational procedures.


- Identify opportunities to modernize legacy automations rather than performing a simple one-to-one migration.


Power Automate Desktop & Cloud Flows :


- Design, develop, and review complex Power Automate Desktop (PAD) automations.


- Build and integrate Power Automate Cloud Flows with PAD desktop flows.


- Work with triggers, actions, variables, conditions, loops, error handling, retries, logging, and reusable components.


- Design solutions using appropriate cloud connectors and Microsoft ecosystem integrations.


- Implement secure credential management and appropriate access controls.


- Design automation solutions for attended and unattended execution where applicable.


- Monitor automation health, failures, execution performance, and operational metrics.


- Troubleshoot production issues and provide root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.


Microsoft 365 & Application Integration :


- Develop automation solutions leveraging the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including : Excel Outlook SharePoint Teams OneDrive Microsoft Forms Dataverse, where applicable Integrate automation workflows with business applications, web applications, desktop applications, and enterprise systems.


- Work with APIs, web services, databases, files, and third-party applications.


- Understand authentication mechanisms and integration patterns such as REST APIs and service accounts.


Technical Responsibilities :


- Work with SQL databases for data retrieval, validation, updates, reconciliation, and reporting.


- Develop and consume REST APIs/web services as part of automation solutions.


- Use scripting languages such as Python, VBScript, PowerShell, or similar technologies to extend automation capabilities.


- Implement robust exception handling, logging, retry mechanisms, and recovery strategies.


- Analyze application/UI changes and their impact on existing automations.


- Perform technical troubleshooting across desktop, browser, application, database, API, and Microsoft 365 layers.


- Optimize automation execution time, resource utilization, and reliability.


Process Analysis & Solution Design :


- Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, SMEs, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand business requirements.


- Analyze AS-IS processes and identify opportunities for simplification and automation.


- Define TO-BE automated processes and prepare technical solution designs.


- Create process flow diagrams, solution design documents, technical specifications, and implementation plans.


- Identify process dependencies, exceptions, business rules, compliance requirements, and operational risks.


- Recommend automation approaches based on process complexity, maintainability, security, and business value.


Team & Stakeholder Management :


- Lead a team of RPA developers and provide technical mentoring and code reviews.


- Work closely with project managers, business stakeholders, enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, security teams, and application owners.


- Communicate technical concepts and automation risks effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


- Manage technical dependencies, risks, issues, and delivery timelines.


- Participate in solution reviews, architecture discussions, estimation exercises, and project planning.


Required Skills & Experience :


- 8 - 12 years of overall experience in RPA, automation, software development, or related technology roles.


- Mandatory hands-on experience in UiPath-to-Power Automate Desktop (PAD) migration.


- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate Desktop (PAD).


- Strong knowledge of Power Automate Cloud Flows and integration between cloud and desktop flows.


- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade RPA solutions.


- Prior experience with at least one or more RPA platforms such as UiPath Blue Prism Automation Anywhere Other enterprise RPA platforms


- Strong understanding of RPA architecture, development lifecycle, deployment, monitoring, and support.


- Experience migrating, redesigning, or modernizing legacy RPA workflows.


- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.


- Experience working with SQL databases and queries.


- Experience working with REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.


- Working knowledge of Python, VBScript, PowerShell, or similar scripting technologies.


- Strong understanding of exception handling, logging, debugging, retries, and recovery mechanisms.


- Experience with process analysis, automation assessment, effort estimation, and ROI evaluation.


- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


- Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder-management, and leadership skills.


Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills :


- Experience with Power Platform governance and Center of Excellence (CoE) practices. Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse.


- Experience with Power Platform environments and solution management.


- Familiarity with ALM concepts, including development, test, and production environments.


- Experience with source control/version-control practices.


- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts for Power Platform or RPA deployments.


- Experience with enterprise credential and secret-management solutions.


- Familiarity with Windows Server, virtual machines, Citrix, remote desktop, and browser automation.


- Experience with OCR, document processing, email automation, and intelligent automation.


- Exposure to AI Builder, Power Automate AI capabilities, or intelligent document processing is an advantage. UiPath certification and/or Microsoft Power Platform certifications would be an added advantage.
