Description :
Experience Required : 8 to 14 yrs.
Major Requirement : Rubrik CDM, SLA domains, cyber recovery, immutable backups, Rubrik APIs, automation, HLD/LLD, Agile delivery, DevOps (CI/CD, PowerShell/Python), VMware/Azure/AWS integration, stakeholder management, ServiceNow/Jira, Splunk/ELK/Grafana.
- Own end-to-end delivery for Rubrik implementations : discovery, design, build, integration, migration, cutover, validation, and hyper care.
- Run technical discovery workshops; translate requirements into delivery scope, acceptance criteria, and an executable implementation plan.
- Produce delivery-ready design artifacts (HLD/LLD), configuration standards, and runbooks/operational procedures.
- Lead build and configuration of Rubrik policies (SLA domains, retention, archival, replication), onboarding workloads, and executing recovery tests.
- Drive migration planning : sequencing, dependency mapping, rollback strategy, and change windows; coordinate with infrastructure, app, DB, network, and security teams.
- Act as the technical delivery lead across Agile/iterative execution : sprint planning, story grooming, and tracking progress against milestones.
- Ensure operational readiness : monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, upgrade planning, and handover to operations with knowledge transfer.
- Manage delivery governance : RAID, change management, status reporting, stakeholder communication, and escalation handling.
- Troubleshoot complex issues (L3+), perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive actions to improve reliability and performance.
- Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and enforce documentation and quality standards.
Required Technical Skills :
Primary Skill : Rubrik (Must-have) :
- Strong experience architecting and implementing Rubrik CDM for enterprise backup, recovery, and cyber recovery use cases.
- Design and configuration of SLA Domains, protection policies, retention, archival, and replication strategies aligned to business requirements.
- Experience integrating Rubrik with common platforms (virtualization, files, databases, and cloud workloads) and troubleshooting protection failures.
- Operational expertise : monitoring, upgrade planning, capacity management, performance tuning, and reporting.
- Security-focused implementation : immutable backups, role-based access control, MFA/SSO integration (where applicable), encryption and auditing.
- Hands-on with Rubrik APIs/automation for workflow enablement (policy at scale, reporting, provisioning).
- Understanding of cyber resilience patterns (clean room recovery concepts, recovery validation, incident response alignment).
Secondary / Cluster Skills :
- Solution Architecture & Architecting : Ability to create HLD/LLD, reference architectures, integration designs, NFRs, risk assessments, and design sign-offs; experience with TOGAF-style thinking is a plus.
- Project Delivery (Must-have) : Lead execution planning and delivery governanceWBS/milestones, dependency management, RAID, change windows, cutover/hypercare, UAT coordination, and handover; strong control on scope, schedule, and quality.
- AgileScrum : Deliver in sprints/iterationsconvert requirements into epics/stories with clear DoD/acceptance criteria; participate in planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives; proactively remove blockers and manage cross-team dependencies.
- DevOps : Apply automation to improve delivery speed and consistency (scripts, pipelines, configuration at scale); promote repeatable deployments, environment standardization, and operational feedback loops.
- Client Centricity : Strong consulting approachlistening, problem framing, trade-off articulation, and stakeholder management; ability to influence decisions and drive consensus.
- Infrastructure & Platforms (supporting knowledge) : Virtualization, operating systems, networking fundamentals, identity/access management, and storage concepts; cloud basics (AWS/Azure/GCP) to support Rubrik cloud workflows/archival.
Expected Soft Skills :
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams.
- Structured problem solving and analytical troubleshooting; bias for root-cause analysis.
- Ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes; ability to drive tasks to closure.
- Customer-first attitude with strong consulting and presentation skills.
- Ability to mentor/guide team members and conduct technical reviews.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and comfort working in fast-paced delivery environments.
Tools & Technology Knowledge (Expected) :
- Rubrik : Rubrik CDM UI/CLI, reporting, API usage; experience with automation/integration patterns.
- ITSM / Operations : ServiceNow (or equivalent), incident/problem/change processes.
- Agile tools : Jira and Confluence (or equivalents) for backlog, documentation, and delivery tracking.
- DevOps / Automation : Git, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps/GitHub/GitLab), scripting with PowerShell/Python (as applicable), basic IaC concepts (Terraform/Ansible as a plus).
- Monitoring & Logs : Splunk, ELK, Grafana, or similar tools (as applicable in the environment).
- Platforms (supporting) : VMware vSphere, Windows/Linux administration concepts; cloud consoles and storage services for archival/replication (as applicable).
Education & Certifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred : Rubrik certification(s) (if available/recognized in your organization) and/or relevant cloud/security certifications (AWS/Azure, Security+, etc.
Evaluation Focus Areas (Interview / Assessment Guide :
- Delivery execution : ability to structure an implementation plan (phases, milestones, cutover/hypercare), manage dependencies, and run governance (RAID, change control, status reporting).
- Rubrik hands-on delivery : onboarding workloads, defining SLA domains, archival/replication, executing recovery tests, and troubleshooting protection/recovery failures.
- Operational readiness : monitoring/alerting approach, capacity and upgrade planning, runbooks, KT plan, and support transition.
