This role is ideal for freelancer or independent consultants
Location: Mumbai
Duration: 3-6 Months
Roles and Responsibilities :
The engagement will focus on the structured assessment and closure of approximately 10+ applications within the client's enterprise technology landscape as part of a transformation initiative. The scope includes evaluating current-state architecture, identifying gaps, and defining assessment conclusions and recommendations sufficient to enable downstream decision-making, prioritization, and delivery planning.
In addition, architectural inputs will be provided for 50+ prioritized digital journeys to ensure consistency between experience design, application architecture, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
Technical Landscape Analysis :
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the bank's technology landscape, including infrastructure (on-premises, private cloud, public cloud, hybrid), network architecture, security zones, and connectivity.
- Assess the current-state architecture of approximately 70 in-scope applications, including core banking systems, digital channels, supporting platforms, middleware, APIs, and third-party integrations, with the objective of reaching documented assessment conclusions for each application.
- Analyse data platforms, data flows, storage mechanisms, lineage, and integration patterns.
- Identify architectural dependencies, technical debt, scalability limitations, resilience gaps, and single points of failure.
- Assess alignment with banking requirements related to information security, data privacy, regulatory compliance, auditability, availability, and disaster recovery.
- Document current-state architecture using industry-standard artifacts suitable for internal governance.
Architecture Design :
- Define end-to-end solution architectures aligned with business objectives, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.
- Design target-state and transition-state architectures to enable phased implementation.
- Define integration, data, and security patterns consistent with bank architecture standards and policies.
- Evaluate and recommend technology options and design trade-offs with explicit consideration of regulatory, security, and operational levers.
The Solution Architects will produce assessment closure outputs for all in-scope applications, including:
- Current-state architecture views
- Key constraints and dependencies
- Identified technical debt and remediation themes
- High-level recommendations and next-step options
These outputs will be suitable for executive review, architecture governance forums, and downstream delivery planning.
Delivery and Governance Support :
- Provide architectural oversight during implementation to ensure adherence to approved designs.
- Support identification, assessment, and mitigation of technical, security, and operational levers.
- Participate in design reviews, architecture governance forums, and stakeholder discussions.
- Collaborate closely with QA and delivery teams to ensure architectural controls and quality requirements are validated throughout the delivery lifecycle.
