Software Engineer - Java Technologies

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Excellent opportunity for a motivated Software Engineer eager to learn new technologies and gain expertise in API delivery and event-driven architecture (e.g., BEM, Kafka).

- Offers visibility into how multiple systems operate across MassMutual.

- As the organization scales, the role will focus on managing technical debt and improving API uptime.

- Part of a squad responsible for tech debt remediation across multiple APIs and supporting strategic initiatives.

- The squad will ensure high-quality standards and maintain the required API uptime.

- Responsible for building and maintaining the codebase for both customer-facing and internal service APIs.

- Familiarity with standard web backend architecture and capable in database design and interaction.

- Collaborate closely with the Home office team to understand product requirements, develop new features, and maintain existing code.

- Involves both new development and bug fixing to support evolving business needs.

Skills Required :

- Java Web applications

- RESTful Services

- JavaScript/NodeJs

- Familiarity with Linux Containers (Dockers)

- Strong SQL skills

- Spring Framework knowledge

- Familiarity with GitHub or GitLab

Preferred skills :

- AWS

- Kubernetes

- Spring Boot & Microservices
