Software Engineer - Backend System

Description :

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend systems on AWS.

- Design and implement efficient database schemas based on application requirements.

- Define relationships, ensure data integrity, and optimise query performance.

- Collaborate with the development team for schema refinement and tuning.

- Build and manage database structures using SQL, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

- Work across relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

- Handle data migration, import/export, and integration between systems.

- Manage database users, backups, performance tuning, and security configuration.

- Ensure database scalability, performance, and availability in AWS environments.

- Implement robust data protection, encryption, and privacy measures in line with organisational standards.

- Work closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to align data architecture with application goals.

- Communicate technical database and backend concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements :

- Strong programming experience in Java / GoLang / Python for backend system design.

- Hands-on expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2 RDS, Lambda, S3 ECS, etc. ).

- Experience working with microservices and Kubernetes-based environments.

- Understanding of RESTful and gRPC API design.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern deployment frameworks.

Programming Languages :

- Java / GoLang, Python.

Cloud :

- AWS.

Containerization and Orchestration :

- Kubernetes.

APIs :

- REST, gRPC.

Database :

- MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
