About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our BT Development team.

This role provides the opportunity to work on modern PHP frameworks, scalable backend modules, and intuitive frontend components while contributing to the growth of retail technology platforms in India. You will gain exposure to large-scale systems (~5 million API jobs/day) and real ownership of product features from day one.

Key Responsibilities :

- Collaborate with the product team to analyze and provide technical expertise on requirements.

- Design and implement scalable backend modules and responsive frontend components aligned with the product roadmap.

- Take end-to-end ownership of small to mid-sized modules/features from design to deployment.

- Write high-performance, maintainable code optimized for scale and efficiency.

- Review peer code and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and consistency.

- Plan, automate, and execute test scenarios in collaboration with QA teams.

- Ensure availability, scalability, and performance of assigned modules and services.

- Contribute to system optimization and capacity planning as platforms scale.

- Work in an Agile environment with regular sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Essential Requirements :

- 25 years of experience in backend development using any one PHP 5+ framework (CakePHP / Laravel / Yii / Phalcon).

- Solid experience with MySQL and strong understanding of relational databases.

- Hands-on expertise in Angular.js, React.js, or Vue.js for frontend development.

- Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3 for responsive web development.

- Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

Desirable Skills :

- Exposure to Git, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools.

- Knowledge of AWS or Azure infrastructure services.

- Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, or NoSQL databases.

- Working knowledge of Python or Node.js as secondary programming languages.

- Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
