Software Development Engineer (Backend) :

If you're an engineer who enjoys designing distributed systems, solving hard backend problems, debugging production issues, and seeing your code make an impact at massive scale, this role is for you.

What You'll Own :

This isn't a role where you just pick up tickets. You own the backend end-to-end.

From the first design discussion to production deployment, and from monitoring dashboards to the occasional production mystery, you'll be responsible for building systems that are reliable, scalable and built to last.

- Architect and build high-scale backend systems used in enterprise environments

- Design fault-tolerant, distributed services with clear SLIs/SLOs, strong observability and predictable performance

- Build and evolve microservices and distributed workflows involving messaging, asynchronous processing, retries and idempotency

- Turn complex business requirements into simple, robust technical solutions

- Work closely with Product, Frontend, QA/SDET, DevOps/SRE and Data teams

- Participate in design reviews, code reviews and architecture discussions

- Own production systems, troubleshoot challenging issues and continuously improve reliability

- Mentor engineers and help raise the engineering bar across the team

- Most importantly, keep building. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a purely managerial one

What We're Looking For :

Must Have :

- 6 - 10 years of experience building production backend systems, preferably in SaaS or product companies

- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, concurrency, scalability and reliability

- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot

- Proven experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices

- Good understanding of relational & NoSQL databases, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and Redis/Memcached

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, comfortable getting to the root cause of complex production issues

- Experience with at least one major cloud platform - AWS, GCP or Azure

- Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing and observability

- A genuine track record of shipping production code, not just creating designs or managing teams

The Engineering Stack :

- Languages : Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, Spring / Spring Boot

- Infrastructure : AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch

- Data & ML : Spark, Airflow, optimization engines covering areas such as routing, ETA and slotting

- This is engineering at a serious scale : 350+ deployments, 30+ countries, billions of deliveries, high-volume daily computations.

- The systems you build won't just serve a few thousand users. They'll help move goods across the world.

And If You Go Beyond Your Day Job :

We love engineers who are curious outside their job description. It's a strong plus if you've :

- Built an interesting side project or internal tool

- Contributed to open source

- Filed a patent or published research

- Written technical content or spoken at engineering conferences

- Competed in hackathons, competitive programming or other challenging pursuits

You don't need all of these. We're simply interested in people who build, explore and push themselves.
