Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

Test Planning & Analysis :

- Review and analyze business requirements and functional specifications for completeness and testability.

- Participate in requirement understanding sessions with business analysts and stakeholders.

- Identify and document detailed test scenarios and acceptance criteria based on business flows.

Test Case Development & Execution :

- Design, write, and maintain manual and automated test cases based on business logic and functional requirements.

- Perform thorough functional, integration, regression, and system testing.

- Execute REST API tests using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.

- Validate backend data by writing complex SQL queries for DB testing.

Defect Management :

- Identify, log, track, and re-verify defects using JIRA or other defect tracking systems.

- Work closely with developers and business analysts to resolve bugs and re-test fixes.

- Ensure proper defect prioritization and resolution based on business impact.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Interact with business stakeholders, developers, BA teams, and vendors to ensure clarity in requirements and seamless communication.

- Provide timely status reports and raise risks or blockers proactively.

- Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Quality & Ownership :

- Take full ownership of the application/module assigned and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions.

- Maintain test documentation, traceability matrices, and version control for test scripts and data.

- Suggest and implement process improvements and best practices to improve testing efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience :

Domain Expertise :

- 4+ years of experience in Core Banking, Trade Finance, or Financial Applications.

- Strong understanding of banking workflows, financial transactions, and risk controls.

Technical Skills :

- REST API Testing using Postman, SoapUI

- Hands-on experience in Database Testing, writing complex SQL queries

- Exposure to test management tools like JIRA, Confluence

- Knowledge of Mainframe systems and ability to interpret logs is an added advantage

- Understanding of API Automation, Selenium, BDD frameworks (good to have)

- Version control using Git

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to multitask and manage multiple test efforts simultaneously

- Self-driven with minimal supervision, ownership mindset

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Good to Have / Preferred :

- Experience in automation frameworks (Selenium, Rest Assured)

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of test automation

- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies

- ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications

Educational Qualification :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
