Role Overview :

We are looking for a Shopify Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong hands-on experience in Node.js and a passion for building world-class e-commerce experiences.

You will drive the technical direction of Shopify projects, mentor the development team, and deliver custom storefronts, headless commerce solutions, and enterprise integrations.

This is a key role where youll work directly with architects, designers, and business stakeholders to create impactful customer journeys for global brands.

Key Responsibilities :

- Serve as the Shopify SME for Softobizs e-commerce initiatives, owning technical solutions end-to-end.

- Build and customize Shopify themes, Liquid templates, and apps to deliver engaging storefronts.

- Develop Node.js/Express.js backends and APIs for seamless integration with ERP, CRM, OMS, and third-party systems.

- Implement headless commerce using Shopify Storefront API, GraphQL, Hydrogen/Remix, or React.js.

- Ensure code quality via Clean Architecture, reusable components, and performance optimization.

- Collaborate with UX, design, and product teams to deliver responsive and scalable solutions.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring high availability and security compliance.

- Mentor junior developers and contribute to Softobizs e-commerce capability building.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 5+ years of proven Shopify development experience (themes, apps, Liquid, Polaris).

- Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, Express.js, REST/GraphQL APIs.

- Proficiency with JavaScript, React.js/Next.js, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend practices.

- Solid understanding of Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront, Checkout, Payments).

- Experience with headless Shopify builds and storefront performance optimization.

- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and API integration workflows.

- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Shopify Plus, multi-storefront setups, and enterprise integrations.

- Exposure to Azure/AWS hosting, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-native practices.

- Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and performance best practices.

- Prior experience in an agency/consulting environment delivering global e-commerce projects
