Job Description : Senior Snowflake Expert

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Snowflake Expert to manage, secure, and optimize our large-scale Snowflake SaaS instance hosted on AWS.

This role requires deep experience in Snowflake administration, development, and integration with tools such as Prefect, dbt, and Python-based data pipelines.

The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, security, and compliance across our Snowflake environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Snowflake Administration :

- Manage and maintain Snowflake SaaS environment, including user roles, security, data sharing, and cloud integrations.

- Monitor Snowflake performance; proactively tune configurations for cost and performance optimization.

- Administer Snowflake features : SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Tasks, and Streams.

- Manage data ingestion and transformation pipelines within Snowflake.

- Configure and maintain SSO and IAM integration with AWS.

Security, Governance & Compliance :

- Implement data access controls, encryption, governance, and auditing best practices.

- Define data privacy, masking, and secure sharing policies.

- Collaborate with IT and InfoSec to ensure compliance with security standards.

Integrations & Automation :

- Maintain integrations with Prefect, dbt, and Python workflows.

- Automate Snowflake administrative tasks such as user provisioning and warehouse scaling.

- Partner with developers and analysts for seamless data operations.

Cost Optimization & Performance :

- Monitor credit usage, query patterns, and workloads to optimize costs.

- Provide insights and reporting on usage and efficiency improvements.

Development & Support :

- Support data engineers and analysts with SQL development, schema design, and performance tuning.

- Troubleshoot Snowflake-related issues in data pipelines.

- Contribute to architecture improvements and adoption of new Snowflake features.

Qualifications :

Required :

- Senior-level experience in Snowflake administration and engineering.

- Expertise in SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, Roles, and Resource Monitors.

- Experience with AWS IAM, S3, Glue, and Snowflake deployment through AWS Marketplace.

- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and dbt.

- Experience with SSO and identity management integration for Snowflake.

- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Prefect or Airflow.

- Strong knowledge of data governance, security controls, and cost management.

Preferred :

- Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines.

- Familiarity with additional AWS services integrated with Snowflake.

- SnowPro Core or Advanced certification
