Role Overview :

This pivotal role involves the comprehensive management, optimization, and security of our enterprise-grade Snowflake data platform. The Snowflake DBA will be instrumental in ensuring the high availability, performance, and integrity of our critical data assets, directly supporting advanced analytics, business intelligence, and operational reporting.


You will work closely with data engineers, data scientists, analytics teams, and various business stakeholders, providing expert guidance and hands-on administration to maintain a robust and scalable data ecosystem. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to derive timely insights, make data-driven decisions, and ensure the reliability of our data services for internal and external users.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and optimize Snowflake data warehouses for peak performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, supporting critical business analytics and reporting needs.

- Proactively monitor Snowflake environments, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and ensure high availability and reliability of data services for end-users.

- Design and implement robust security policies, access controls, and data governance frameworks within Snowflake, safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring compliance.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for routine Snowflake administration tasks, streamlining operations and enhancing overall efficiency for the data platform team.

- Partner with data engineering, architecture, and business teams to understand data requirements, provide expert guidance on Snowflake best practices, and support new data initiatives.

- Conduct capacity planning and resource management for Snowflake, ensuring future scalability and cost-effectiveness as data volumes and user demands grow.

Required Skillset :

- A minimum of 6 years of dedicated experience in Snowflake administration and database management, demonstrating a deep understanding of its architecture and capabilities.

- Profound expertise in Snowflake administration, including virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, user management, and resource monitors.

- Proven ability in Snowflake performance tuning, query optimization, and effective cost management strategies.

- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and experience with cloud-native data platforms.

- Extensive experience with Snowflake security features, data encryption, and implementing robust access control mechanisms (RBAC).

- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their seamless integration with Snowflake.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and SQL for automation, operational tasks, and data manipulation.

- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential issues before they impact operations.

- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field from a reputed institution.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and collaborating effectively across teams in Bangalore and Mumbai.
