ServiceNow Administrator/Developer (CMDB Specialist)

Job Summary :


We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Administrator/Developer (5- 10 years experience) with mandatory strong expertise in the CMDB Module and its Components. The ideal candidate must be very strong with all components of CMDB, including data modeling, reconciliation, identification rules, and normalization.


Key responsibilities involve developing, customizing, and administering the CMDB to ensure data accuracy, and supporting core ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request Management). Immediate availability (within 30 days) is required for this product-based MNC role.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :

CMDB Design, Development, and Maintenance :

- Demonstrate strong expertise with ServiceNow, specially with CMDB Module and Components.

- Be very strong with all components of CMDB, including the Configuration Item (CI) class structure, relationships, identification and reconciliation rules, and data normalization.

- Design and implement effective CMDB data models to support business services and downstream processes (e.g., Incident correlation, Change impact analysis).

- Develop and maintain data imports and integrations (e.g., Discovery, Service Mapping) to ensure the CMDB is current, accurate, and complete.

- Implement and enforce CMDB governance policies and procedures.

ServiceNow Core Platform Development and Administration :

- Utilize Basic experience with core ServiceNow modules like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Request Management to ensure the CMDB integrates seamlessly.

- Perform platform administration tasks, including user management, security configuration (ACLs), and platform upgrades/patches.

- Develop and customize platform features using JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the CMDB and integrated ITSM processes.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : Overall, 5 to 10 years of experience.

- Core Module : Strong expertise with ServiceNow specially with CMDB Module.

- CMDB Depth : Should be very strong with all components of CMDB (CI classes, relationships, reconciliation, normalization).

- ITSM Foundation : Basic experience with core ServiceNow modules like Incident, Problem, Change, Request Management.

Preferred Skills :

- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.

- Certification : Certified ServiceNow Administrator (CSA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in CMDB.

- Experience with scripting languages relevant to ServiceNow (JavaScript, Glide API).

- Experience with integrations using REST/SOAP APIs.
