The Senior Technical Architect is a strategic, hands-on technology leader responsible for designing and guiding the architecture of large-scale, high-impact software systems. This role involves deep technical ownership, especially in integrating AI/LLM capabilities, ensuring scalable backend architectures, and aligning teams around a cohesive technical vision. You will influence decisions across multiple engineering teams and play a critical part in shaping the companys long-term technology direction.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own and define the end-to-end architecture for complex, distributed backend systems.

- Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across multiple engineering teams.

- Conduct architectural reviews, provide guidance on design tradeoffs, and ensure alignment with long-term technical strategy.

- Lead system design efforts for new features, platform integrations, and AI-driven capabilities.

- Architect and implement AI/LLM features using modern AI frameworks, vector databases, RAG patterns, and inference pipelines.

- Collaborate with data science, ML engineering, and product teams to translate AI requirements into scalable system architectures.

- Optimize AI model integrations for performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and security.

- Ensure safe, compliant, and responsible deployment of AI technologies within production systems.

- Write high-quality backend code in Node.js, TypeScript, and related technologies.

- Review code and design documents, mentoring senior engineers on system design and architectural thinking.

- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across services, APIs, and infrastructure layers.

- Contribute to proof-of-concept implementations and validate architectural approaches before scaling.

- Work closely with engineering managers, product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders to align technology strategy with business goals.

- Influence engineering roadmaps and multi-team architectural initiatives.

- Communicate architectural decisions clearly, ensuring teams understand both short-term impacts and long-term rationale.

- Drive consensus and collaboration across backend, frontend, DevOps, and AI teams.

- Design cloud-native architectures using AWS, GCP, or Azure (serverless, containers, orchestration, CI/CD, observability).

- Define performance, monitoring, and reliability standards for production systems.

- Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams on scaling strategies, cost optimization, and infrastructure automation.

- Ensure systems meet industry-grade security, compliance, and scalability needs.

- Oversee API design principles (REST, GraphQL) and guide interface contracts with frontend/mobile teams.

- Understand modern frontend architecture (React, Next.js, or similar) to ensure seamless integration with backend and AI systems.

- Define patterns for component reuse, API optimization, and state management from an architectural standpoint.

Required Qualifications :

- 12 - 15 years of experience in software engineering and large-scale system architecture.

- Hands-on AI/LLM integration experience in production systems (RAG pipelines, embeddings, fine-tuning, vector DBs, inference orchestration).

- Expert backend engineering skills with Node.js, TypeScript, distributed systems, microservices.

- Strong system design capabilities, especially for distributed, high-availability, and low-latency systems.

- Proven experience influencing architecture across multiple teams or product lines.

- Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, caching, streaming systems, and API design.

- Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React or similar) and how they interact with backend systems.

- Extensive experience working with cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices.

- Experience working in fast-paced startup or high-growth product environments with evolving requirements.
