Senior Software Engineer - Network Operations Intelligence

Job Summary :

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in developing Network Operations Intelligence (NOI) solutions, performing impact correlation, and working extensively with Netcool Omnibus.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical systems that ensure the reliability and efficiency of our network operations.

This role requires a strong understanding of network monitoring, event management, and data analysis.

Responsibilities :

- Implement algorithms and logic for real-time data analysis and anomaly detection.

- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize network performance and incident trends.

- Develop and implement impact correlation logic to identify the root cause of network incidents.

- Integrate data from various sources to create a comprehensive view of network dependencies.

- Optimize correlation rules to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.

- Configure and customize Netcool Omnibus to meet specific business requirements.

- Develop and maintain probes, gateways, and integrations with other monitoring tools.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Netcool Omnibus performance and functionality.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

- Develop and maintain unit tests and integration tests.

- Work within a hybrid work environment.

- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to NOI, impact correlation, and Netcool Omnibus.

- Provide technical support to operations teams during incident resolution.

- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, operations teams, and other software developers.

- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Participate in agile development processes and contribute to team meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on network monitoring and event management.

- Strong experience with NOI development and impact correlation techniques.

- Extensive experience with Netcool Omnibus configuration and customization.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.

- Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies.

- Experience with database systems and SQL.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience with Linux/Unix enviroments.

- Experience with scripting languages.

- Experience with other network monitoring tools.

- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms.
