Role Overview :
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cherwell, you will serve as the technical architect for our service management platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional IT teams, business analysts, and infrastructure stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain sophisticated ITSM solutions. Your daily contributions will directly impact the efficiency of our clients' internal operations, ensuring that service delivery workflows are seamless, automated, and capable of supporting high-volume enterprise demands.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and implement complex Cherwell Service Management solutions to align with evolving business requirements and ITSM best practices.
- Develop and optimize backend database queries using SQL and MySQL to ensure high-performance data retrieval and reporting for critical service metrics.
- Configure and maintain WebSphere application environments to ensure stable integration and high availability of service management tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring that automated workflows reduce manual overhead.
- Perform rigorous system testing and troubleshooting to resolve technical bottlenecks and maintain the integrity of the service management platform.
- Mentor junior developers by conducting code reviews and promoting engineering standards that improve overall system maintainability.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and customizing Cherwell Service Management modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request management.
- Proficient in writing complex SQL and MySQL queries to manage database schemas, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of WebSphere application server administration and its role in supporting enterprise-grade software deployments.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate technical constraints and solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote or distributed team environment while maintaining high standards of documentation and project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 5 to 10 years of professional experience in software development and ITSM implementation.
