Capitalmind is a SEBI-registered Portfolio Management Service (PMS) and AIF firm managing ~?2,000 Cr in AUM across quantitative, data-driven investment strategies. We're a small, high-conviction team - and our engineering systems sit at the heart of how we serve clients, manage portfolios, and stay compliant with SEBI regulations. We build a lot of our core systems in-house - from backoffice operations and portfolio tracking to client-facing portals and data infrastructure - and integrate with third-party platforms where it makes sense.

The Role :

We're looking for a Senior Python Full-Stack Developer with a Tech Lead mindset to join our engineering team in Bangalore. The majority of our backend is Python/Django, so that's where most of your time will go - but you'll also work across the stack on frontend and infrastructure when needed. You'll be a hands-on contributor working closely with a small team, with a strong focus on system design and architecture decisions.

This isn't a people-management role. You won't be doing performance reviews or running 1 : 1s. What you will do is set the technical bar : drive architecture decisions, establish patterns the team can build on, review code with genuine depth, and make sure we're building things the right way - not just the fast way.

What You'll Work On :

- Backoffice & PMS systems : The operational backbone of our fund management : trade processing, portfolio tracking, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting. These systems need to be correct above everything else.

- Client-facing portals & APIs : Web interfaces and REST APIs that our clients and internal teams use to view portfolios, reports, and performance data.

- DevOps & infrastructure : AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, reliability, and observability. We care about systems that stay up and recover gracefully when they don't.

What We're Looking For :

Must-Have :

- 5-8 years of professional software development experience, with a strong Python background and meaningful full-stack exposure throughout

- Deep expertise in Django and Django REST Framework - you should know the ORM, middleware, signals, and the right way to structure large Django projects

- Solid experience with PostgreSQL at scale - query optimization, indexing, schema design, and an understanding of when a relational model is the right tool

- Hands-on experience with AWS - EC2, RDS, S3, and ideally some experience with managed services like ECS or Lambda

- Solid React / Next.js experience - comfortable building and owning frontend features end-to-end

- Experience owning system design decisions - you've thought about trade-offs between monolith vs service boundaries, sync vs async, caching strategies, and database design

- A track record of leading technical work - whether as a formal tech lead or as the de facto senior person on a project, you've guided the technical direction and helped others grow

Good to Have :

- MySQL experience

- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows - we actively use Claude Code as part of our development process, and comfort here is increasingly valuable

- Some exposure to financial domain concepts - basic understanding of portfolios, NAV, trade lifecycle, or similar is a plus, though not a dealbreaker
