So, whats the role all about?

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Product Owner to join our rapidly scaling FinTech product team in Pune. This is a critical role for someone passionate about the lending domain, with expertise across the full lending lifecycle from onboarding and underwriting to repayment and back-office automation.

As a Senior Product Owner, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring clarity, efficiency, and measurable value. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering teams, taking complete ownership of delivery within an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Product Vision & Strategy :

- Define and execute product features aligned with the strategic roadmap.

- Collaborate with underwriting, risk, operations, finance, and customer support teams to identify needs and translate them into clear requirements.

- Prioritize the product backlog based on business impact, user value, and technical feasibility.

Agile Execution :

- Act as the primary liaison for a dedicated Scrum team and actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).

- Ensure delivery of high-quality product increments in every sprint.

- Work closely with QA and engineering teams to validate acceptance criteria and product functionality.
Stakeholder Communication

- Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders to provide product updates, manage expectations, and gather feedback.

- Facilitate cross-team alignment, resolve impediments, and ensure smooth product delivery.

Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving

- Analyse business objectives, customer needs, and operational gaps to drive data-driven product decisions.

- Proactively identify risks, propose solutions, and remove delivery roadblocks.

- Continuously refine the product direction based on insights and performance metrics.

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role.

- Strong hands-on experience in the lending domain including loan origination, underwriting, disbursal, collections, and loan servicing.

- Proven expertise with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban); SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience highly desirable.

- Strong communication skills with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

- Proficiency in documenting user stories, wireframes, and acceptance criteria.

- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Figma.

Technical Skills (Required)

- API & Integration : Open API, Swagger, Postman

- File Formats : JSON, XML

- Testing Tools : Selenium, LoadRunner, SoapUI

- Project/Issue Tracking Tools : Jira, Redmine

- Strong understanding of QA processes and ability to work closely with test engineers.

Preferred Attributes :

- Educational background in Finance, Economics, or Business.

- Prior experience in a FinTech startup or high-growth product company.

- Strong analytical mindset; able to use metrics for product decision-making.

- Comfortable working as an individual contributor with autonomy and accountability
