Key Responsibilities :
Advanced Database Administration :
- Perform support, maintenance, and tuning of enterprise Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security for production, staging, and development environments.
Performance Tuning & Optimization :
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance issues using tools and techniques such as AWR, ASH, SQL Trace, and explain plans.
Backup & Recovery :
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, Data Guard, and other Oracle tools to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
Security & Compliance :
- Manage user access, roles, privileges, and passwords. Ensure security policies are enforced, and compliance standards are met.
Database Design & Deployment :
- Assist with database schema design, application installs, patching, cloning, and upgrades, including patch deployment for CPU and application patches.
Scripting & Automation :
- Develop Unix shell scripts for automation of routine tasks such as backups, monitoring, and performance checks.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting :
- Proactive monitoring of database health, capacity planning, and troubleshooting complex issues to minimize downtime.
Outage & Incident Management :
- Manage outage communications, weekend maintenance, and incident resolutions ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Role & AD Group Management :
- Manage Active Directory groups and roles related to database access and security.
Cross-Functional Support :
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and support personnel to ensure integrated system support.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Oracle database administration in a large enterprise environment.
- Deep expertise with Oracle Database RDBMS, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
- Proficient in SQL & PL/SQL coding, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Unix/Linux scripting, CRON jobs, and automation tasks.
- Knowledge of security management, user roles, and AD integration.
- Familiarity with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and Data Pump.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Good understanding of Active Directory, Single Sign-On, and related security protocols.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications :
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or higher certifications.
- Certifications in UNIX/Linux scripting or cloud database management are a plus.
