Role Purpose

The Storage and Backup Administrator will manage Nutanix storage, object-storage services, and Commvault backup operations. The role is responsible for data protection, backup integrity, restore readiness, capacity management, backup immutability, and cyber-recovery support.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer Nutanix HCI storage and Nutanix object-storage clusters.

- Monitor storage capacity, utilization, performance, latency, and cluster health.

- Manage storage policies, containers, replication, compression, deduplication, and encryption settings.

- Administer Commvault Backup and Recovery and Commvault HyperScale X.

- Configure and maintain backup schedules, policies, retention rules, and protection groups.

- Monitor daily backup jobs and investigate failed, missed, or partially completed backups.

- Perform daily backup validation and report backup status.

- Conduct monthly restore tests and document results.

- Support quarterly DR drills and cyber-recovery exercises.

- Manage backup immutability and protected recovery copies.

- Validate backup data integrity and restoration readiness.

- Perform backup-capacity forecasting and storage-efficiency reviews.

- Coordinate backup requirements for Linux, Windows, databases, virtual machines, and application workloads.

- Maintain backup and recovery runbooks, operating procedures, and retention documentation.

- Support recovery requests based on approved authorization and change procedures.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience with Commvault Backup and Recovery.

- Experience administering Commvault HyperScale X.

- Knowledge of Nutanix HCI and Nutanix object storage.

- Understanding of enterprise backup architectures, retention, replication, and recovery.

- Experience with immutable backups, air-gapped recovery, or cyber-recovery controls.

- Ability to perform file, VM, database, and system-level restores.

- Strong troubleshooting skills covering backup agents, networks, storage, and infrastructure.

- Knowledge of RPO, RTO, DR, and data-retention requirements.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Commvault Certified Professional or equivalent certification.

- Nutanix storage or infrastructure certification.

- ITIL Foundation certification.

- Experience supporting regulated or mission-critical environments.
