Senior Network Engineer - Routing & Switching

Job Overview :

- Maintain high availability and optimal performance of DRDC network infrastructure.

- Oversee LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, and data center networking operations.

DRDC Operations :

- Ensure readiness and reliability of network systems supporting DR operations.

- Assist in replication setup, data center failover, and DR drills.

- Coordinate with primary data center teams for synchronization and operational alignment.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting :

- Actively monitor network performance and identify potential issues proactively.

- Troubleshoot high-severity incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve escalated network issues.

Security & Compliance :

- Implement network security standards and best practices across DRDC infrastructure.

- Ensure compliance with security frameworks, audits, and regulatory guidelines.

- Manage firewall policies, access controls, and secure device configurations.

Maintenance & Upgrades :

- Manage firmware upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance activities.

- Document network topology, processes, and change management activities.

- Evaluate and recommend improvements to strengthen DR network resilience.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management :

- Collaborate with OEMs, ISPs, and service partners for escalations and new deployments.

- Provide performance and incident reports to senior management as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.

- 6 to 15 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network management.

- Strong experience in routing & switching (Cisco/Juniper/Arista), firewalls, and DR networks.

- Expertise in protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP, VPN, MPLS, and QoS.

- Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.).

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience working in data center or DR environments.

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA / CCNP / JNCIA / JNCIS.

- Knowledge of ITIL, change management, and ticketing tools.
