Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Network Engineer / Network Operations Lead to manage and optimize large-scale enterprise networking environments. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, automation initiatives, incident management, and root cause analysis across complex, multi-vendor infrastructures.

This role demands deep expertise in routing & switching, troubleshooting critical incidents, and implementing preventive strategies in high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Incident & Problem Management :

- Identify recurring incident patterns and drive structured problem management initiatives.

- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high-severity incidents and publish detailed post-mortem reports.

- Respond to Priority-1 / Major incidents and collaborate with cross-functional teams for rapid restoration.

- Gather forensic data during security-related incidents and coordinate with security teams.

Network Operations & Optimization :

- Manage and optimize large-scale enterprise networks (DC & WAN environments).

- Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

- Implement network changes using standardized procedures and automation tooling.

- Participate in 24x7 operational rotation including on-call (nights/weekends as needed).

Technical Engineering :

- Configure and manage :

1. Routers / Switches

2. Firewalls

3. Load Balancers

- Perform packet-level analysis using sniffers (Wireshark, tcpdump).

- Troubleshoot TCP/IP stack issues, latency, packet loss, MTU mismatches.

Continuous Improvement :

- Drive network performance improvements.

- Develop automation scripts (Python / Ansible preferred).

- Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for advanced troubleshooting.

Technical Expertise Required :

- Core Networking

- Strong expertise in TCP/IP fundamentals

- In-depth knowledge of :

1. BGP

2. OSPF

3. MPLS

4. L3 VPNs

5. VRFs

6. STP

7. HSRP

8. CDP

9. UDLD

Routing & Switching Platforms :

- Hands-on experience with :

1. Cisco Systems (IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS)

2. Juniper Networks (JUNOS)

3. Arista Networks (EOS)

4. F5, Inc. (Load Balancers)

5. SONiC based platforms

Operating Systems & Network OS :

- EOS

- IOS / IOS-XR

- NX-OS

- JUNOS

- SONiC

Desired Experience :

- 5- 12 years in enterprise networking environments.

- Experience handling large-scale data-driven network projects.

- Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills.

- Experience with monitoring tools and alert-based incident handling.

- Exposure to network automation & orchestration is highly preferred.

- ITIL process understanding is an advantage.

Preferred Certifications (Good to Have) :

- CCNP / CCIE

- JNCIP / JNCIE

- F5 Certified

- ITIL Foundation
