Job Description :
We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer with 7 - 12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise and data center networking, network security, cloud networking, and Kubernetes networking. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, BGP, Anycast, Azure networking, and Kubernetes CNI technologies such as Cilium and Calico.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and Container Network Interfaces (CNIs).
- Manage and support firewalls, IDS/IPS, and perimeter security solutions, with Barracuda preferred.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, Aruba, and Ruckus networking environments.
- Design and manage BGP routing, Anycast deployments, and dynamic routing strategies.
- Manage site-to-site VPNs, ISP relationships, and WAN connectivity to ensure resilient network performance.
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues.
- Provide hands-on expertise in Azure cloud networking, including VNets, VPN gateways, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity.
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking using CNIs such as Cilium and Calico.
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes networking issues including pod-to-pod communication, service connectivity, ingress/egress traffic, DNS, Network Policies, and cluster networking.
- Support integration of Kubernetes environments with enterprise networking, security, and storage infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network and application-level issues involving DNS, HTTPS, TCP/IP, routing, and connectivity.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, architecture, and topology diagrams.
- Provide on-call support for critical network issues, outages, and escalations.
- Work with operations teams and OEM vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex network challenges.
- Design and lead initiatives for network optimization, restructuring, resiliency, and security hardening.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network administration, technologies, firmware, Kubernetes networking, and CNI solutions.
- Monitor data center environmental conditions to ensure optimal operating conditions for network and infrastructure equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure provisioning, rack/stack activities, Kubernetes infrastructure, and operational requirements.
Requirements :
- 7 - 12 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and administration.
- Strong expertise in routing and switching across enterprise and data center environments.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst, Aruba, and Ruckus networking technologies.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, preferably Barracuda, along with Cisco ASA/FTD and advanced perimeter security.
- Strong knowledge of BGP and Anycast deployments.
- Hands-on experience with vendor-independent switching environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking and CNI technologies.
- Strong practical experience with at least one CNI such as Cilium or Calico.
- Good understanding of Kubernetes networking architecture, including Pod networking, Services, Network Policies, DNS, ingress/egress, and cluster connectivity.
- Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes and CNI-related network issues.
- Understanding of Meraki Wi-Fi access points and Z/MX devices for VPN.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud networking, including VNets, VPN gateways, Azure Firewall, and hybrid connectivity.
- Exposure to AWS/GCP cloud networking is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills in complex network environments.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Grafana, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong ownership mindset with accountability for uptime, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Good to Have :
- CCNP certification; CCNA certification is the minimum preferred certification level.
- Experience with IPS/IDS, ASA/FTD firewalls, Barracuda, and advanced network security.
- Strong practical exposure to Kubernetes, containerized environments, Cilium, and Calico.
- Experience designing and operating Anycast networks and configuring BGP in enterprise or data center environments.
- Experience participating in at least 2 successful Disaster Recovery (DR) implementations and testing.
- Experience with AWS or GCP cloud networking.
- Experience with network optimization, architecture restructuring, resiliency, and security hardening initiatives.
- Experience working with OEM vendors and operations teams on complex infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure, rack/stack activities, and server/network equipment provisioning.
- Exposure to network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools is a plus.
