Role Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Senior Lead with strong expertise in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Microsoft SQL Server technologies. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end Power BI solution design, architecture, development, performance optimization, and governance while working closely with business stakeholders to translate data into meaningful insights.

This role requires deep technical proficiency in Power BI (Desktop/Pro/Premium), advanced DAX/MDX, data modeling, SQL development, and enterprise-level BI architecture including embedding, security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Power BI Development & Visualization

- Design and develop interactive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and analytical reports using Power BI Desktop.

- Implement advanced visualizations with strong formatting, navigation, drill-through, bookmarks, and storytelling capabilities.

- Translate complex business requirements into intuitive and insightful visual reports.

- Work with multiple data sources including SQL Server, APIs, cloud sources, and live connections.

- Implement import mode, Direct Query, and live connection strategies based on performance needs.

2. Data Modeling & DAX Expertise

- Build optimized data models using Power Query and Power Pivot.

- Design and implement star and snowflake schemas with proper handling of Facts and Dimensions.

- Write advanced DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and MDX queries for custom calculations.

- Troubleshoot and optimize DAX formulas for performance.

- Ensure scalability and performance of large datasets within Power BI.

3. BI Architecture & Administration :

- Architect enterprise-level Power BI solutions using Pro and Premium capacities.

- Manage Power BI service, report publishing, app workspaces, and governance.

- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and dynamic role-based security models.

- Work with Power BI Gateway for on-premises data connectivity.

- Develop Power BI embedded solutions using REST APIs.

- Integrate Power BI with Power Automate for workflow automation.

- Stay updated with latest Power BI features, AI integrations, and best practices.

4. Database & SQL Expertise

- Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers using T-SQL.

- Design and develop database objects such as tables, views, constraints, partitioned views.

- Implement referential integrity rules and validations.

- Perform performance tuning using execution plans and index optimization.

- Work on SQL Server 2012/2016 environments for BI and reporting solutions.

5. Documentation & Governance

- Prepare HLD (High-Level Design) and LLD (Low-Level Design) documents.

- Create Unit Test Cases and support UAT cycles.

- Maintain documentation for data models, report logic, and security frameworks.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Power BI infrastructure.

6. Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Lead BI initiatives and mentor junior developers.

- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Provide architectural guidance and recommend best practices.

- Ensure quality, performance, and scalability of BI solutions.

Required Skills & Expertise :

Technical Skills

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI (Desktop, Pro, Premium).

- 3+ years of advanced DAX and MDX experience.

- Strong expertise in Data Modeling (Facts, Dimensions, Star Schema).

- Strong SQL Server development experience (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Performance Tuning).

- Experience with Power BI Gateway and embedded solutions using REST API.

- Experience with Power Automate integration.

- Deep understanding of BI architecture and enterprise deployment.

- Exposure to Power BI AI features and advanced analytics.

- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts.
