A leader in Information Technology & Services focused on enterprise software and digital transformation.

The organisation builds scalable, mission-critical Java microservices, APIs and backend platforms for clients across finance, ecommerce and SaaS.

This is an on-site technical lead role based in Chennai to drive architecture, delivery and team excellence.

Role & Responsibilities :

- Lead design and delivery of Java-based microservices define architecture, non-functional requirements and deployment patterns.

- Write and review high-quality production code using Spring Boot, Hibernate and RESTful APIs; establish coding standards and best practices.

- Design and operate CI/CD pipelines and container workflows (Docker); own release processes and branching strategies using Git.

- Diagnose and resolve performance, scalability and reliability issues; drive application profiling, tuning and production incident response.

- Mentor and grow engineering teams : conduct code reviews, technical interviews, and drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

- Collaborate with product, QA and DevOps to translate requirements into secure, scalable solutions and ensure timely delivery.

Skills & Qualifications :

Must-Have :

- Proven experience leading Java backend teams and delivering production-grade microservices (senior/lead level).

- Strong hands-on expertise with Java and Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security).

- Practical experience building RESTful APIs and working with Hibernate/JPA and relational databases (SQL).

- Experience with containerisation and CI/CD tools and workflows (Docker, Jenkins/GitLab CI, Git).

- Solid understanding of system architecture concerns : performance tuning, scalability, security and observability.

- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Chennai and to lead cross-functional delivery efforts.

Preferred :

- Kubernetes (container orchestration) experience.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and cloud-native patterns.

- Domain experience in fintech, payments or enterprise SaaS.
