As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical leadership, setting development standards, driving engineering excellence, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions aligned with ANZs technology strategy. You will proactively lead technical solutions, mentor team members, and contribute hands-on to development, testing, and delivery activities enabling faster, more efficient, and reliable product outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide technical leadership across design, development, and delivery activities.

- Work hands-on in Java development, testing, and analysis to deliver robust solutions.

- Contribute to Microservices-based solution design and promote best practices across teams.

- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architects to translate business

requirements into scalable solutions.

- Enhance engineering capabilities in Microservices architecture and align with future

technology direction.

- Simplify and automate build, test, and deployment processes through CI/CD practices.

- Drive reduction of technical debt and improvement of platform health.

- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a learning and collaborative culture.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure quality

delivery.

You are an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong Java development background, proven leadership capabilities, and experience building customer-centric enterprise applications. You are a proactive problem-solver, an excellent communicator, and thrive in collaborative, agile teams. You should bring most (if not all) of the following :

Technical Skills & Experience :

- Extensive experience in Java development (Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot).

- Strong expertise in Microservices and API development (REST/JSON, Kafka, message queues).

- In-depth knowledge of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server).

- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automation (Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket).

- Familiarity with container platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.

- Strong understanding of software design patterns, API service testing, and integration.

- Solid experience with Unix/Linux commands, web services, and messaging frameworks.

- Hands-on experience in QA processes, source control, and build pipelines.

Soft Skills & Working Style :

- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
