About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Manager with a strong hands-on background in Backend Engineering, Microservices, and Cloud-Native Architecture. You will lead high-performing engineering squads, drive technical excellence, and be actively involved in coding, architecture, and solution design. Experience with AWS is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

- Lead, mentor, and grow backend engineering teams.

- Enforce best practices in coding, architecture, and design.

- Provide hands-on guidance and review code to maintain high standards.

Backend Engineering (Hands-On) :

- Strong coding background in Golang / Java / other backend languages.

- Contribute directly to high-impact features and services.

Microservices & Cloud Architecture :

- Architect, build, and maintain scalable microservices.

- Implement cloud-native principles and distributed systems.

- Work extensively with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms.

Squad & Delivery Management :

- Independently manage engineering squads.

- Drive sprint execution, delivery timelines, and quality metrics.

- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps teams.

- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Participate in roadmap planning and technical strategy discussions.

Technology Excellence :

- Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and engineering practices.

- Champion automation, CI/CD, and modern DevOps culture.

Must-Have Skills :

- 10-18 years of software engineering experience.

- Strong hands-on coding experience in Golang / Java / Backend technologies.

- Expertise in Microservices Architecture & Cloud-Native Systems.

- Experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, API Gateway, etc.) preferred.

- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams/squads.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.

- AWS certifications.

- Prior experience in building large-scale distributed systems.

Educational Qualifications :

- Bachelors Degree : B.Tech / B.Sc / BCA

- Masters Degree (preferred) : M.Tech / M.Sc / MCA
