Role Purpose :
We are seeking for an expert DBA with Hands On experience on SQL Server and PostgreSQL having a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Candidate should have a good understanding of SQL Scripting and experience in writing automation scripts for DBA tasks.
Responsibilities we entrust you with :
- Core DBA skills expert
- Database Migration, Automation using Scripts.
- Auto failover strategy or proactive fixes for handling outage scenarios.
- Perform code review for DDL and DML scripts for SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting
- Patroni HA/DR and Passive Replication configuration in PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge in Linux and Windows OS.
Relevant work experience :
- Strong working experience of providing Production Support for various Database Technologies including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL expertise.
- Strong working experience in supporting High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server (SQL Always On) and PostgreSQL Passive Replication and Patroni HA.
- Experience in working with multiple OS platforms like Windows/ Linux etc.
- Experience in working with PostgreSQL tools, Passive Replication, partitioning etc.
- Good understanding of one or more cloud computing environments like AWS and Azure, AWS preferred.
- Knowledge of backup/recovery mechanisms, Index management, and statistics.
- Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQLProfiler and other technologies related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking & deadlocking
- Capacity Planning (Backup Share, Disk, CPU, Memory etc)
- Good communication and documentation skills
Years of experience : Minimum 3 years of experience and maximum 5 years experience with Primary Skillset needed is SQL Server while Secondary in PostgreSQL.
