Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in GitHub Enterprise, Git, CI/CD, automation, AIX/Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for modernizing enterprise development infrastructure, supporting SCM migration to Git/GitHub, building CI/CD pipelines, automating developer workflows, and managing containerized and cloud/on-premise environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement Git repository architecture for migrating legacy source code, releases, and change-management tracks to Git repositories, branches, and tags.

- Lead and support large-scale SCM migrations in enterprise environments.

- Develop tooling and CLI automation to modernize existing developer workflows and integrate with issue/defect management systems.

- Build and maintain GitHub Enterprise organizations, teams, repositories, CODEOWNERS, and branch protection policies.

- Design and implement GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines using self-hosted runners for build, testing, deployment, and release automation.

- Integrate GitHub with internal tools using REST/GraphQL APIs.

- Update and maintain AIX build infrastructure, Makefiles, packaging scripts, and release tooling.

- Automate build, deployment, release, and operational processes using Python, Bash/KSH, and Perl.

- Design and manage Kubernetes and Docker environments.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.

- Support AWS and hybrid cloud/on-premise environments.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployments.

- Support access control, security, and governance across GitHub Enterprise and DevOps environments.

- Lead parallel-run strategies, validation, and final cutover during SCM migration.

- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and training materials for engineering teams.

- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to improve developer productivity and delivery automation.

Mandatory Skills :

- Git and GitHub Enterprise

- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines

- Experience with large-scale SCM/Git migrations

- Strong knowledge of Git internals, including fast-import, rebase, reflog, and history rewriting

- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash/KSH

- Good experience with Linux/AIX

- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes

- Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or CloudFormation

- Experience with AWS or hybrid cloud environments

- Experience with repository management, branching strategies, access control, CODEOWNERS, and branch protection

- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, automation, build, release, and deployment processes

- Experience troubleshooting CI/CD and infrastructure-related issues

Good to Have :

- Experience with AIX/Power Systems architecture

- Experience with LPP packaging and AIX build systems

- Experience administering GitHub Enterprise at enterprise scale

- Knowledge of IBM RETAIN/APAR defect tracking workflows

- Experience with Jira or GitHub Projects

- Knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs

- Experience with Nginx, load balancing, and traffic routing

- Knowledge of SSL, TLS, SSO, and certificates

- Experience with AWS services

- Experience with developer productivity or infrastructure engineering teams

- Experience with Ansible or other configuration-management tools

Experience :

- 8 - 15 years of overall experience in DevOps, Build/Release Engineering, Developer Infrastructure, SCM, or Platform Engineering, with strong hands-on experience in Git/GitHub Enterprise and CI/CD.
