Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Senior MySQL Database Administrator to join our engineering team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will be the primary custodian of our data infrastructure, ensuring that our high-traffic databases remain performant, secure, and highly available. You will work closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, and product stakeholders to architect scalable data solutions that directly influence the reliability of our platform. By optimizing complex queries and automating routine maintenance, you will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and enhancing the overall user experience for our global customer base.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust database architectures to support high-concurrency applications, ensuring seamless scalability as our user base grows.

- Automate database administration tasks, such as backups, patching, and monitoring, using Python scripts to reduce manual overhead and human error.

- Conduct deep-dive performance tuning and query optimization to improve application response times and resource utilization for our engineering teams.

- Manage database security, access controls, and compliance protocols to protect sensitive customer data and maintain organizational integrity.

- Lead incident response efforts during database-related outages, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and ensure long-term system stability.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale MySQL environments, including deep knowledge of replication, clustering, and partitioning strategies.

- Proven ability to write efficient Python scripts for database automation, monitoring, and data migration tasks.

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical database constraints into actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders.

- A collaborative approach to working within an on-site team environment in Hyderabad, fostering knowledge sharing and technical excellence.

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, backed by 5 - 8 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
