We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the health, performance, and security of our production database environments supporting medium- to large-scale enterprise operations.

You will bridge the gap between traditional database administration and modern cloud-native infrastructure, leveraging your experience with relational databases, cloud environments, and containerization to ensure our data systems are highly available, scalable, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities :

- Database Management : Oversee the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, and monitoring of production database engines (including Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and MSSQL) in both cloud and on-premise environments.

- Infrastructure & Orchestration : Manage and optimize databases operating within cloud platforms (primarily AWS) and containerized environments using AWS Kubernetes (EKS).

- Automation & Scripting : Design, write, and maintain automation scripts using Bash or Python to streamline database backups, recovery, deployments, and routine maintenance tasks.

- Monitoring & Observability : Implement and maintain robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for databases using ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack services.

- Performance Tuning : Diagnose and resolve complex performance issues, optimize queries, configure database parameters, and plan capacity for high-volume enterprise workloads.

- System Administration : Leverage a deep understanding of Linux OS concepts to optimize system-level interactions, memory management, disk I/O, and networking for database servers.

- Security & Compliance : Ensure data integrity, implement access controls, and manage robust backup/restore policies to meet strict enterprise recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs).

Required Qualifications & Skills :

- Experience : 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience managing production databases in a medium- to large-sized enterprise.

- Database Expertise : Strong proficiency in administrating at least two of the following : Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, or MSSQL (across cloud and on-premise deployments).

- Cloud Platform Skills : Proven experience working within cloud environments, with a strong preference for Amazon Web Services (AWS).

- Orchestration & Logs : Good, practical understanding of managing infrastructure via AWS Kubernetes (EKS) and utilizing ELK Services for centralized logging and analysis.

- Programming/Scripting : Minimum of 2 years of experience writing clean, maintainable code using Bash or Python for automation.

- Operating Systems : Solid comprehension of Linux OS concepts (process management, storage structures, kernel tuning, and CLI utilities).

- Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.

Preferred / "Nice to Have" Qualifications :

- AWS Certified Database Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.

- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).

- Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines for database schema migrations.
