Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions using PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and OpenSearch to support business applications and data warehousing needs.
- Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies to optimize query execution and resource utilization.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance degradation, connectivity problems, and data corruption, to minimize downtime and ensure service availability.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Automate database administration tasks, such as patching, upgrades, and configuration management, to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance on database design, query optimization, and data modeling best practices to ensure efficient and scalable applications.
- Manage and maintain AWS database services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and OpenSearch.
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting complex database issues.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
- Experience with AWS database services and cloud-based database management.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- 4 - 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
