Role Summary :

We are looking for a Senior Cognos BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise reporting and analytics solutions on the IBM Cognos Analytics platform. The role involves end-to-end ownership from data modeling and report development to performance tuning, deployment, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop complex paginated reports, dashboards, active reports, and visualizations in IBM Cognos Analytics (10.x/11.x)

- Build and maintain Framework Manager packages and modern Data Modules define namespaces, query subjects, relationships, determinants, calculated items, and governors.

- Translate business requirements into technical specs; work directly with business analysts, product owners, and end users.

- Develop and optimize underlying SQL queries, stored procedures, and views on relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server etc.

- Implement prompts, drill-throughs, master-detail relationships, conditional formatting, and bursting.

- Configure schedules, subscriptions, and distribution (email, file share, portal).

- Implement row-level / object-level security using Cognos namespaces, capabilities, and authentication providers (LDAP, AD, SSO/SAML).

- Perform performance tuning of reports, queries, and Cognos services analyze query logs, indexing strategies, and caching.

- Migrate legacy content (SSRS, Crystal, older Cognos versions, BusinessObjects) into the current Cognos environment.

- Support deployments across environments (Dev - UAT - Prod) using deployment specifications, Lifecycle Manager, and Git-based version control.

- Mentor junior developers; conduct code reviews and enforce BI standards.

- Troubleshoot production issues and provide L3 support.
