Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backup, Storage & Kubernetes Engineer with 7 - 10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise backup, storage, virtualization, and Kubernetes environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Commvault, Pure Storage and/or NetApp, along with practical experience managing Kubernetes clusters and Container Network Interfaces (CNI).

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and support enterprise-level backup and storage environments using Commvault, Pure Storage, and NetApp.

- Perform daily backup operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of backup and restore issues.

- Configure, maintain, and optimize SAN, NAS, and disk-based storage systems.

- Manage backup configurations for various data sources, including VMware, SQL, Exchange, Unix, Windows, and Kubernetes environments.

- Maintain and troubleshoot backup jobs, including Auxiliary Copy, Data Aging, retention policies, and tape library management.

- Support backup and data protection for Kubernetes/containerized workloads.

- Configure and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking and CNI solutions.

- Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes cluster networking, pod-to-pod communication, service networking, and network connectivity issues.

- Work with common CNI technologies such as Calico, Cilium, Flannel, or equivalent.

- Support Kubernetes cluster infrastructure, including networking, storage integration, persistent volumes, and backup/restore operations.

- Perform storage performance tuning, capacity planning, and storage system audits.

- Execute storage provisioning, LUN masking, zoning, and replication activities.

- Manage storage replication and data protection using NetApp Snapshot, SnapMirror, and Pure Storage FlashArray features.

- Support disaster recovery planning and execution, including regular DR tests and backup recovery exercises.

- Collaborate with Kubernetes, VMware, database, Windows, Linux, network, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth infrastructure operations.

- Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.

- Participate in infrastructure maintenance, patching, upgrades, and technology refresh activities.

- Provide on-call support and participate in scheduled infrastructure maintenance activities.

- Maintain operational documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and infrastructure standards.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 - 12 years of overall experience in enterprise infrastructure, backup, storage, and/or systems administration.

- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Commvault backup administration.

- Strong understanding of enterprise backup architecture, backup policies, retention, recovery, and compliance.

- Hands-on experience with Pure Storage and/or NetApp storage platforms.

- Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS/SMB.

- Experience with NetApp Snapshot, SnapMirror, or Pure Storage FlashArray.

- Strong experience supporting VMware/virtualized environments.

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting.

- Good understanding of Kubernetes networking and CNI (Container Network Interface).

- Experience with at least one Kubernetes CNI solution such as Calico, Cilium, Flannel, Weave Net, or equivalent.

- Understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts including Pod networking, Services, Network Policies, ingress/egress traffic, DNS, and cluster networking.

- Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes networking and connectivity issues.

- Knowledge of persistent storage / CSI integration with Kubernetes is preferred.

- Experience with backup and recovery of containerized/Kubernetes workloads is an advantage.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a distributed/remote team environment.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution.

- Knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

- Experience with storage capacity planning and performance optimization.

- Experience with Kubernetes cluster upgrades, patching, and maintenance.

- Exposure to enterprise infrastructure upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.

- Experience working with tape libraries and enterprise backup media management.

- Understanding of backup and storage compliance, governance, and data retention practices.

- Exposure to Linux administration and shell scripting.

- Knowledge of CSI, persistent volumes, StorageClasses, and Kubernetes storage architecture.

- Exposure to cloud or hybrid-cloud infrastructure is a plus.

Shift : 5 : 30 PM - 2 : 30 AM IST.

Work Mode : 100% Remote.

Support : On-call / maintenance support as required.
