Senior Backend Engineer - React.js/Python

Role Description :

A leading technology company is looking for a talented and experienced Lead Backend Engineer to join their team in Bangalore. As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of backend systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and high-performing. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to architect solutions and provide technical guidance.

Responsibilities :

- Technical Leadership: Take ownership of the backend development process, providing technical leadership to the engineering team.

- Design and Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and architect scalable and reliable backend systems.

- Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Python, leveraging best practices and industry standards.

- Database Management: Manage and optimize the Postgres database, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.

- Integration: Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate backend functionality with React and Typescript.

- API Development: Design and develop robust RESTful APIs, ensuring they are well-documented and easy to consume.

- Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks, ensuring fast response times and efficient resource utilization.

- Troubleshooting and Bug Fixing: Diagnose and resolve technical problems, including bugs and performance issues, in a timely and efficient manner.

- Code Review: Perform code reviews for the backend team, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and expertise.

- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design documents, and API specifications.

- Research and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in backend engineering, and help drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 4-8 years of experience in backend engineering, working on high-scale applications.

- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as Django or Flask.

- Solid understanding of database management, with experience in Postgres.

- Experience with frontend technologies, such as React and Typescript.

- Knowledge of BigQuery or other data warehousing solutions is a plus.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Passion for technology and desire to stay updated with industry trends.

- Leadership experience or the ability to provide technical guidance is preferred.

- Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or GCP, is a plus.
