Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js/TypeScript

Description :

Role : Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js / Python, Payroll & Compliance Systems)

With 58 yrs experience in Node.js/TypeScript or Python, PostgreSQL & REST APIs. Build payroll, HR and rule-based compliance systems. Strong architecture, Redis & backend security required.

Role Overview :

Design and build backend services for payroll, leave, claims, and a rule-based compliance engine. Focus on clean APIs, strong data models, and secure, reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design & implement backend services and REST APIs

- Model and manage HR, payroll, leave & claims data

- Build and maintain rule / policy evaluation services

- Improve system performance, reliability & security

- Write unit & integration tests

- Collaborate with frontend & ML teams on clean APIs

Must-Have Skills :

- 5 to 8 years of backend engineering experience

- Strong hands-on Node.js/TypeScript OR Python (FastAPI/Django)

- Strong PostgreSQL / SQL experience

- Experience building RESTful APIs

- Knowledge of clean architecture & modular design

- Experience with Redis, background jobs / queues

- Understanding of backend security (auth, RBAC, PII handling)

Good to Have :

- Rule engines / policy-as-code (DMN, OPA/Rego)

- Event-driven systems or audit/event sourcing

- Integrations with banks, payment gateways, or govt systems

- HR, payroll, or compliance-heavy domain experience
