About the Role :
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join our fast-growing team. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact customer and business problems, contribute to core architecture decisions, and help shape the engineering culture of an early-stage product built for Bharat.
You will own end-to-end feature delivery, drive engineering excellence, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ship innovative solutions at speed.
Key Responsibilities :
Core Engineering & Development :
- Build and ship high-impact backend features in our Node.js / TypeScript codebase.
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend systems.
- Apply modern engineering practices such as Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Architecture, and Cloud Native Architecture.
Collaboration & Problem Solving :
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to build user-centric features.
- Collaborate to solve real customer and business problems with a product-first mindset.
Quality, Testing & Reliability :
- Own product quality through integration tests, automated testing, code reviews, observability and monitoring.
- Improve systems by refactoring, reducing technical debt, and ensuring high availability.
Architecture & Infrastructure :
- Contribute to architectural direction, ensuring faster iterations and scalability.
- Manage production infrastructure using AWS / GCP / Azure.
Bonus : Experience working with Kubernetes.
Culture & Mentorship :
- Set high engineering standards for code quality, performance, CI/CD, and reliability.
- Mentor fellow engineers and help shape the engineering culture and best practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Technical Expertise :
- 4 to 6 years of backend engineering experience.
- Minimum 2 years of production experience with TypeScript, Express.js / Nest.js, and MongoDB / MySQL / PostgreSQL / DynamoDB.
- Strong understanding of MVC, DDD, CQRS, event-driven systems, and scalable architecture patterns.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing and CI pipelines.
- Knowledge of observability, including metrics, tracing, and logging.
Engineering Mindset :
- Passionate about clean code, architecture, code reviews, performance, and reliability.
- Startup-friendly : biased toward shipping fast, experimenting, and iterating.
- Ownership-driven : takes accountability and collaborates actively with the team.
- Strong communication skills with a willingness to seek feedback early.
