About the Role :

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on security and reliability to join our core platform team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing high-throughput, low-latency microservices that handle sensitive enterprise data and integrate with core AI functionality. This role is distinguished by its emphasis on security best practices, ensuring all services are hardened against threats, adhere to compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2), and are built for resilience and zero trust environments.

Key Technical Responsibilities :

1. Secure Backend Development :

- Core Development : Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable microservices using Go (Golang) or Java/Kotlin and frameworks like Spring Boot.

- Security Implementation : Embed security controls directly into the code. Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, Role-Based Access Control) and secure API gateways.

- Data Protection : Implement data encryption mechanisms both in transit and at rest, and manage secrets and configuration securely using tools like HashiCorp Vault or AWS KMS.

2. Performance and Reliability :

- Distributed Systems : Work with distributed databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and event streaming platforms (Kafka) to ensure transactional integrity and high availability.

- Performance Tuning : Optimize service performance, latency, and concurrency to meet strict enterprise-level SLAs.

- DevSecOps : Collaborate with SRE and Security teams to integrate automated security scanning (SAST/DAST) into the CI/CD pipeline and troubleshoot production security vulnerabilities rapidly.

3. Compliance and Architecture :

- Compliance Coding : Ensure all codebase and architectural decisions adhere to internal security policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., data residency, audit logs).

- Architecture Review : Participate in technical design reviews, providing security-focused feedback on new microservice architectures and third-party integrations.

What You'll Bring (Mandatory Skills & Experience) :

- Educational Excellence : B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline from an IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani, or IIIT is mandatory.

- Experience : 3-6 years of experience in Backend Engineering, with demonstrably strong experience or deep interest in application security, authentication, and authorization protocols.

- Core Languages : Expert proficiency in a high-performance backend language (Go (Golang) or Java/Kotlin).

- Security Knowledge : Solid understanding of common web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), secure coding practices, and identity management concepts.

- Systems : Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and SQL databases.

Location : This is a Hybrid Work position based in Bangalore only. No WFH/Remote options are available.
