Role Description :

Southwest PullSheet team is looking for a seasoned Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in building scalable microservices-based architectures using either Java (Spring Boot), Node.js (Express), or Python (FastAPI). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience deploying and managing services on AWS, including key services like Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, ElastiCache, and ECS.

You will be a critical part of the team driving backend architecture, API design, and cloud infrastructure decisions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and is passionate about writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable microservices.

- Collaborate with architects, product managers, and frontend teams to define APIs and integration patterns.

- Build RESTful and/or event-driven APIs using Java (Spring Boot), Node.js (Express), or Python (FastAPI).

- Write unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and reliability.

- Leverage AWS services (Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, ECS, ElastiCache) for cloud-native development and deployment.

- Optimize services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging best practices.

- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6+ years of professional backend development experience.

Proficiency in one or more of the following backend frameworks :

- Java with Spring Boot

- Node.js with Express

- Python with FastAPI

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.

Proven experience deploying services on AWS, specifically with :

- Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, ElastiCache, ECS (or EKS)

- Familiarity with API security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, etc.).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).

- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
