Key Responsibilities :

- Plan, design, and execute SQL Server migration projects from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.

- Migrate databases to Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS).

- Utilize Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) for seamless database migration.

- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.

- Configure and manage backup, recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

- Monitor database health, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize system performance.

- Implement Azure networking, storage, monitoring, and security best practices for database environments.

- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure successful migration and deployment.

- Prepare migration plans, technical documentation, and post-migration validation reports.

- Support production databases and ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security.

Required Skills :

- 6-10 years of experience in SQL Server Administration/Database Engineering.

- Strong expertise in :

1. SQL Server Administration

2. Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI)

3. Azure SQL Database

4. Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS)

5. Azure Database Migration Service (DMS)

- Hands-on experience in On-Premises to Azure Database Migration Projects.

- Strong knowledge of :

3. Backup & Recovery

4. High Availability (HA)

5. Disaster Recovery (DR)

- Experience with :

1. Azure Networking

2. Azure Storage

3. Azure Monitoring

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in enterprise-scale production database migrations.

- Exposure to Manufacturing, Mining, or Industrial domain projects.

- Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.

- Microsoft Azure certifications are an added advantage.
