About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to lead quality engineering excellence in a modern, agile, and microservices-driven environment. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will design robust test strategies, develop automation frameworks, and promote engineering best practices across teams.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and user-focused solutions, particularly within the banking and payments domain. The role also involves supporting cloud migration initiatives, ensuring end-to-end quality, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead in-sprint testing, shift-left quality, and test automation initiatives.

- Design and implement scalable test frameworks using Karate, Selenium, Playwright, and Rest Assured.

- Drive API and UI automation testing using Java-based frameworks.

- Perform performance and load testing using JMeter and contribute to chaos testing strategies.

- Define and monitor Quality KPIs such as test coverage, defect leakage, MTTR, and release readiness.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Developers to ensure smooth product delivery.

- Integrate testing with CI/CD pipelines and support release management for seamless deployments.

- Support cloud migration efforts and validate applications for scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Promote TDD (Test-Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) methodologies.

- Utilize SonarQube and quality gates to enforce code quality standards.

- Continuously evaluate and improve testing tools, strategies, and processes to enhance efficiency.

- Stay updated with emerging quality engineering trends, automation tools, and technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Minimum 6 years of experience in software quality engineering, automation testing, or software development.

- Strong understanding of Agile development, microservices architecture, and modern testing methodologies.

Hands-on experience with :

- Automation Tools : Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured

- Performance Testing : JMeter, Chaos Testing tools

Languages : Java (preferred)

- CI/CD & DevOps : Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes

- Cloud Platforms : AWS, Azure, or GCP

Monitoring & Quality Tools :

- SonarQube, AI-based testing platforms

- Proven experience in contract testing, API testing, and end-to-end service validation.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

- Strong passion for innovation, continuous learning, and driving quality through engineering excellence.

Preferred Domain Expertise :

- Experience in the Banking or Payments domain is highly desirable.
