Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced IBM DB2 Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing DB2 database solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SQL development, performance tuning, database administration concepts, and supporting enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain IBM DB2 databases and database objects.

- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.

- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.

- Monitor database health and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Support database migration, backup, recovery, and data integration activities.

- Collaborate with application developers and business stakeholders to deliver database solutions.

- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure database availability and reliability.

- Follow database security, compliance, and best practices.

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 (LUW/zOS/iSeries).

- Expertise in SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views, and Indexes.

- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.

- Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and maintenance utilities.

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix or Windows environments.

- Experience with Shell Scripting or automation is an added advantage.

- Understanding of database security and access management.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- IBM DB2 certification is a plus.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Exposure to banking, insurance, telecom, or retail domains is preferred.

Automation & Operations :

- Inventory all Rundeck jobs, scripts, and automation artifacts for repository deposit.

- Store all automation code and job definitions in a version control system (e.g., Git).

- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering job execution, failure handling, and recovery procedures.

- Perform environment switch-over between primary and backup Rundeck environments for Oracle cutover activities and dumpfile generation.

- Produce operational runbooks for day-to-day support activities.
