Position Title: Head of SAP Techno-Functional

Department : Enterprise Applications / IT

Location : Pune

Role Overview :

The Head of SAP Techno-Functional is responsible for leading the end-to-end SAP landscape of the organization, combining strong functional expertise across SAP modules with technical leadership in development, integration, architecture, and modernization. This role drives strategic SAP initiatives, oversees project delivery, ensures system optimization, and partners with business stakeholders to enable digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities :

- SAP Strategy & Leadership

- Define and execute the organizations SAP roadmap, including upgrades, migrations, cloud adoption, and module expansions.

- Provide leadership to SAP functional and technical teams (MM, SD, FI, CO, PP, EWM, ABAP, Basis, Integration, etc.).

- Ensure alignment of SAP capabilities with business strategy and future growth needs.

- Govern SAP solution architecture, standards, and best practices.

- SAP Project & Delivery Management

- Lead large-scale SAP implementations, rollouts, S/4HANA transformation, and enhancement projects.

- Oversee project planning, budget management, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.

- Ensure high-quality delivery, risk management, and adherence to timelines.

- Business Process Excellence

- Collaborate with business leaders to identify process gaps, improvement opportunities, and automation potential.

- Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions across modules.

- Drive cross-functional process harmonization (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, Record-to-Report).

- Technical Oversight

- Oversee SAP ABAP development, Fiori/UI5, BTP, PI/PO, Integration, Basis, and security/authorizations.
Ensure smooth system operations, performance, and availability.

- Guide design for integrations with non-SAP systems using APIs, middleware, and cloud connectors.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and audit standards.

- SAP Governance & Operations

- Manage SAP landscape including change management, transport control, documentation, and testing frameworks.

- Establish SLAs for SAP support, incident resolution, and continuous service improvement.

- Monitor license usage, vendor management, and cost optimization.

- Team Management

- Lead and mentor a team of SAP functional consultants, developers, Basis admins, and project managers.

- Build capability through training, upskilling, and performance management.

- Foster a collaborative and innovation-driven culture.

- Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Act as the primary liaison between IT, business leaders, and external SAP partners.

- Manage relationships with SAP OEM, implementation partners, auditors, and support vendors.

- Drive value through contract negotiation, vendor performance review, and governance.

Technical Expertise

Hands-on knowledge in :

- ABAP, OData, CDS Views

- SAP Fiori/UI5

- SAP BTP (preferred)

- PI/PO/CPI integration
