Samsara - Manager II - Engineering Management

In this role, you will :

- Supervise the evaluation, innovation, development & implementation, of any variety of

internal SaaS Engineering automation systems/AI projects geared to produce efficiency at scale.

- Provide formal performance management support and review to all direct India reports, but

share dotted line day-to-day supervisory capacity with US leadership.

- Serve as the domain expert on implementation, management, and support of Business

technology products and IT applications.

- Develop metrics and dashboards to provide business leadership with meaningful

operational/performance metrics and status reports.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential

impact on the organization's application landscape.

- Manage technical requirements gathering, technical gap analysis, and contribute to backlog

grooming.

- Integrate and implement best practices and DevOps methodologies in every step of the IT

engineering process.

- Champion, role model, and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success,

globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role :

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related

field.

- 10+ years of experience in an IT Engineering role, with at least 3+ years of managing small

teams.

- 6+ years experience in software development and infrastructure.

- Related experience in architecture, design, development, and implementation of highly

scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions.

- Strong experience working with APIs in Javascript (Node.js), Python or Go.

- Strong expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms.

- Exposure to scale in a SaaS-first IT environment (Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Github, Zendesk, etc).

- Strong experience with Terraform.

- Experience with containerization tools, including Docker.

- Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git, GitHub.

- Must be detail oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously.

- Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic.

- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

An ideal candidate also has one or more :

- Developed and managed applications in a team environment.

- Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).

- Expertise with SIEM Splunk service.

- Expertise in corporate networking and email infrastructure, CCNP+ knowledge.

- Experience with Terraform.
